Arlan Dale Almond

Dale Almond, 73 of Locust, NC passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at his home. Dale was born February 21, 1948, in Stanly County to the late Reece W. Almond and the late Pauline Whitley Almond.

He graduated from West Stanly High School and attended Western Carolina University and Wingate University. In his youth, he was active in Boy Scouts of America. He worked at Western Auto, a family-owned business. He was a volunteer in displaying the American flag throughout Locust on nationally designated flag days. He also volunteered to deliver meals to seniors in the community. Dale was an avid reader and especially enjoyed studying habits of birds.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., Saturday January 22, 2022, at First Baptist Church, Locust. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Dr. Tommy Ross, Jr. Burial will be at the First Baptist Church Cemetery at 320 South Central Ave. Locust.

Survivors include brother, Hoyt Almond (Kathy) of Asheville, NC; nephews, Grant Almond (Allison) of High Point, NC and Tyler Almond (Caroline) of Charleston, SC. He has a grandniece, Anna Reece Almond and grandnephew, Jack Almond of High Point.

Memorials may be made to Senior Center for Delivered Meals, First Baptist Church of Locust or a charity of your choice.
