Azucena Melgar

Azucena Trinidad Melgar, 63, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.

Mrs. Melgar was born March 11, 1959 in Guayaquil, Ecuador to the late Carlos Cabrera and the late America Vargas.

Mrs. Melgar was a God fearing woman, she was a devoted parishioner at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was an educator for over 20 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a zest for life and enjoyed cooking, laughing and dancing.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service will be on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 2:00 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church - Charlotte and will be officiated by Rev. Matthew Codd.

Survivors include husband, Jose Melgar; son, Richard Melgar, and daughters, Jennifer Delacruz and Erika Melgar. Also surviving are grandchildren, Damian and Jason Delacruz.
