Derick Poplin

Derick Lynn Poplin, 30, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021.

Derick was born January 18, 1991 in Albemarle to Danny Lynn Helms and Amy Poplin Stirewalt.
He was also preceded in death by grandparents Larry and Donna Poplin, Linda Emmett, and Rodney Helms; and uncle Steve Helms.

The family will have a Celebration of Life for Derick 4:00 pm, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the top of Morrow Mountain State Park, 49104 Morrow Mountain Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001. The family will also receive friends from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, Monday, September 6, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.

Survivors include wife, Tammy Jo Poplin of Albemarle, NC; children Autumn and Davian; mother, Amy (Michael) Stirewalt of Graniteville; SC, father, Danny (Angela) Helms of Burleson, TX; brothers, Adam Stirewalt, Christopher Stirewalt, Cordell Helms, and Felix Stirewalt; sisters, Bridget Taber, Schyler Sharp, Emily Stirewalt; grandparents, John (Annette) Jones, and Brenda Stirewalt.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Poplin family.
