Gregory Curless

Gregory Kent Curless, 63, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, with his wife and sons by his side at their home in Harrisburg.

Gregory was born February 8, 1958, in Rock Island, Illinois to the late Howard Raymond Curless and the late Annabelle Curless.

Some of his passions include the four years he proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, where he was honorably discharged in 1978.  He excelled 30 years in management of the Industrial Valve and Gauge business.  He enjoyed live music, traveling, scuba diving, and teaching his sons to swim.

He was united in marriage to Teresa Elaine Opperman on October 19, 1985, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye, Iowa.  Two sons later blessed this union, Matthew and Samuel Curless.

He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa, two sons, Matthew and Samuel Curless, his sister Lynn (Curless) Wietlispach, and two nephews Christopher and Andrew Wietlispach of Texas.

The burial will be on Friday, April 22nd from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at Salisbury National Cemetery, 202 Government Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144. The visitation will be held on Friday, April 22nd from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM at Hartsell Funeral Homes of Harrisburg. The celebration of life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 PM at 12115 University City Blvd, Harrisburg, NC 28075.
