Jerry William Morton, Sr, 75, of Wadesboro, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Carolinas Healthcare System - Anson in Wadesboro.
Mr. Morton was born June 9, 1943 in Stanly County to the late Billie William Morton and the late Pauline Eury Morton. He was also preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Morton and a sister, Bertie Pinion.
Jerry was retired from Yellow Freight. He was also a member of the Volunteer Fire Department of Millingport and was an active member of New Life Ministries of Wadesboro. Jerry's hobbies were fishing, woodworking and making his yard look pretty.
The memorial service will be on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00AM at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Pastor Randy Brooks.
Survivors include wife, LaNette Morton of the home; daughters, Sandra and husband Joey Emmons, Debra and husband Javi Castro, Cindy and husband Rex Craft, Judy and husband Buddy Beaver, Rebeccah Williams, Paula McCora, Kimberly and husband Mike Bara; sons, Tracy and wife Angie Morton, Billy and wife Lori Morton, honorary son, Tim Vanhoy and wife Gabby; eighteen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren; brothers, Lonnie Ray Morton and Johnny Lee Morton and wife Drina; sister, Evelyn Adams; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Donald and Betty Welch, Billy and Nell Clanton, and Mary and Chris St. Dennis.
