Kathleen Reichard

Kathleen Theresa Reichard, 67, of Concord, passed away on February 6 after a hard battle with Covid-19. She is preceded in death by her father, Daniel H. Reichard, Sr. of Moneta, VA. Kathy is survived by her mother, Joan Reichard, brothers Daniel H. Reichard Jr., (Shelley) of Madison Heights, Virginia, Steven J. Reichard (Dixie) of Little River, South Carolina, sister Sharon M. Reichard (Jeff Younce) of Lake Park, North Carolina, and many nieces, nephews, greats- and one great-great (thank you, Paigey-Paige!). She also leaves behind her love and companion, Bob Accornero, and the dearest friends a woman could have: Beth Moore, Anna Bailey, Lisa Kelly, and Lacey Arrowood.

Raised in Madison Heights, VA, Kathy graduated from Holy Cross Regional Catholic School in Lynchburg and from Lynchburg General Hospital School of Nursing. She had been a Registered Nurse at Atrium Health Cabarrus since 1998. In her tenure she worked in the ER, in hospice care, and since 2008 in the Interventional Radiology department. Wherever she worked Kathy was treasured as an incredible nurse, an awesome colleague, and a patient and supportive mentor. She is remembered as one of a kind, the best person to be around, always positive about everything, and could put a smile on your face and have you laughing to brighten your day.

Kathy was the heart of our family. Always thinking and caring for everyone else. She was the glue that helped to keep us close. Her energy, light, love for life, creativity, beautiful spirit and giving heart will be treasured in our memories. Kathy was the most dedicated daughter, most thoughtful sister, and just the best person you could ever hope to know. Our dear Kathy, as we promised we will meet you and Dad on the dock and you’ll show us all the coolest places in your new heavenly home.
