Marshall Isenhour, Sr.

Marshall Leon "Sonny" Isenhour, Sr.,78, of Concord, NC passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Sonny was born May 2, 1945 in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Cleo Leon Isenhour and the late Ethel May Smith-Isenhour-Love. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Preston Isenhour; a sister, Pearlie McCraven; and grandson, Nathaniel "Nate" Isenhour.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Noles Isenhour; daughter, Tammy Isenhour Burris; son, Sonny Isenhour; daughter, Mandy Morris; daughter, April Marie Isenhour; daughter in law, Sheri Walker; grandchildren, Felicia Burris, Matt Burris, Tyler Burris, Ryan Burris, Gunner Brown, Justice Isenhour, Jackson Isenhour and Brodie Walker; as well as nine great grandchildren.

Sonny was a loving, gentle, and humble man that loved God and his family. If his grandsons were on the ball fields, or wrestling mat, that's where you would find him. Sonny loved being outdoors, fishing, the beach, and spending time with his wife, children, and grand children. Sonny retired from Terminal Trucking, Kannapolis City Schools, and worked for Easter Seals. He never met a stranger and loved joking around with whoever was around. If you ever had the opportunity to be around him, then you have an everlasting memory of the impact he had in your life.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, 460 Branchview Dr., Concord, NC 28025 on Saturday, May 13th, 2023.  A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 14th at New Grace Baptist Church, 1160 Warren Coleman Blvd., Concord, NC 28025, officiated by Rev. Allen Montgomery.  Burial will follow at the Cabarrus Memorial Gardens in Concord.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to His Embrace, Inc., a non-profit organization in honor of his late grandson Nate Isenhour.  Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Isenhour family.
