Stella Russell

It is with great sorrow we announce the death of our loving sister and mother, Stella Lynn Russell, 91, of Albemarle, she passed peacefully on September 23, 2022 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle.

Stella was born May 13, 1931 in Tennessee to the late Rollins Lloyd Dills and the late Annie Belle Dills Duvall.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Cara William Russell, son, Ronald Lee Russell, brother, Leroy Dills, brother, Cecil Dills, brother, R.L. Dills, and sister, Nancy Ruth Tate.

Stella loved to read her bible and she read it from beginning to end many times.  She loved cooking, gardening, fishing and her flowers. Her favorite companion was her beloved cat "Meow Meow".

Survivors include sons; Gary Lynn Russell of Oakboro, NC, James Farrell Russell of Albemarle, NC, daughters; Evie Ann Biby of Albemarle, NC,  Diane Vanhoy of Albemarle, NC, and Mary Gardin, and sister, Clara Belle Dills of Locust. Stella was blessed with 6 children, 24 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren.
