Tamera Burgess

Tamera "Tammy" Leveigh (Esquivel) Burgess, age 49, of 2637 Parks Lafferty Road, Concord, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, July 14, 2009, surrounded by her loving family.

Tammy was born on November 14, 1959 in Cabarrus County. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Esquivel and the late Naomi (Porter) Esquivel. She was a homemaker, and a graduate of Central Cabarrus High School.

She is by her husband Horace "Dell" Burgess, of the home; two sons, Joshua Burgess and wife, Jeannie, of Kannapolis, and Adam Burgess, of Concord; three sisters, Cindy Hernandez and husband, Reuben, of Mt. Pleasant, Diana Valdez, of California, and Cara Gomez, of California; four brothers, Sammy Esquivel, of Texas, Carl Esquivel, of California, Joe Esquivel, of California, and Charles Esquivel, of Texas; stepmother, Becky Esquivel, of Mexico; 12 nieces and 17 nephews; and canine companion, Elvis. She was also expecting her first grandchild in January.

Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Concord, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, July 17, 2009. Funeral service will be at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel - Concord at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 18, 2009. Her husband, Dell Burgess, will be officiating. Interment will be at Bogers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Concord. The family will be meeting at the home.
